I have formed my educational philosophy on the firm belief that education is the cornerstone of growth in our society academically, emotionally, and socially. As a graduate of Public School Number 14 and Snyder High School, I believe that education is the driving force behind our youth becoming successful and intellectual adults. It empowers individuals and allows them to be constructive, productive, and positive contributors within society, and therefore I believe that education is so vital to our global move forward.
I have made a successful career in educating students, and have been involved in teaching for approximately 17 years, encompassing the role of a teacher, coach, and instructional leader. In describing my leadership style, I would venture to say that it is one that is Transformational and Instructional as I believe this is the best combination for overall success. Transformational Leadership focuses on the idea that faculty and staff act together as a cohesive community that wants to be led towards innovative changes and improvement. My philosophy is that, to best lead, an administrator must promote the success of all students while sustaining a school culture and instructional program conducive to student learning and staff professional growth. With this being said, I am willing to take risks to provide an incentive for change and modernization to accomplish the school’s goals, vision, and mission. I place a high value on the needs of staff, inspiring and empowering them to achieve their full potential.
As a leader, I believe that fostering meaningful and cohesive relationships within a school community of staff, parents, and students is best done by taking the time to get to know each individual on a personal level. Time and effort are important. Finally, it is my goal to cultivate a positive and interconnected learning environment while maintaining an “open door” policy in which staff, students, and faculty are comfortable in expressing their feelings. It is my hope to shape a strong educational system in which every student can realize their full academic potential.
